Teacher Librarian Video, April 2012
While working with Mrs. Jennifer Yost at the West Sand Lake Elementary School I wanted to capture the engaging flex-schedule library program in action. Mrs. Yost proved to be an excellent mentor and provided many examples of 21st Century Learning, inquiry-based exploration, and student-driven activity. The flex-schedule program is brand new and unfortunately the school district was undergoing difficult budget decisions and debating the necessity for a school librarian. The video highlights the benefits of flex-scheduling and the products of students working with Mrs. Yost.
Student Blog - Favorite Books, Spring 2013
Using a blog is great way for students and an entire school community to collaborate on a common goal. This blog was created to offer students an opportunity to nominate their favorite book or series to be added into the library at the Woodland Hill Montessori School. Students have worked on posters, blog pages, and used animoto to advertise their book.
